Fitted wardrobes, alcoves and storage

We can discuss fitted wardrobes, alcove cupboards, shelving and other storage built around the room. Decide what must fit inside before choosing the outside appearance: hanging lengths, shelves, drawers and access to everyday items.

Existing walls, floors and ceilings may be out of level. Final measurements, scribing, fillers and the way the unit meets skirting or cornice all affect the finished result.

Doors, skirting and second-fix carpentry

Packages can include internal doors, linings, architraves, skirting and agreed staircase or interior timber details. A door schedule should list sizes, opening directions, frames, ironmongery and the required finish.

Any specified fire, acoustic or other performance requirement needs a suitable complete product and installation detail. Do not assume ordinary decorative carpentry covers a specialist doorset requirement.

Agree the useful details before manufacture

For fitted storage, confirm the internal layout, door clearances, handles, shelf positions and any equipment to be concealed. Radiators, sockets, ventilation routes and service access should stay usable or be altered through a separately agreed package.

Decide whether the price includes drawings, samples, manufacture, installation and final finishing. Painted MDF, veneered board and solid timber look different and need different detailing. If another supplier makes the units, agree who takes final dimensions and checks delivery access.

What affects fitted joinery costs?

Width alone does not describe a wardrobe or alcove unit. Internal fittings, door construction, material choice and the finish can change the package substantially.

Can you install wardrobes or doors we supply?

Yes, within an agreed scope. Send product details, dimensions and delivery information so we can check what preparation, components and fitting work are needed.

Is painting included in a joinery price?

Only where stated. A fitted, unfinished unit, a primed unit and a fully finished installation are different packages.

Can fitted storage work in a loft or sloping room?

Often, but usable depth, door movement and access have to be designed around the shape. Send the room dimensions and what you need to store before deciding the layout.

What to send for a useful quotation

Send the postcode, room photographs, approximate dimensions, a simple sketch or inspiration images, and the items you want to store or fit. Include material and finish preferences, existing services and whether products will be supplied by you.
