A new leaf in an existing lining
Keeping a lining may reduce the surrounding work, but its condition and dimensions matter. Include damaged hinges, a loose frame, previous latch positions and any door that rubs or does not close properly. Final measurements and the proposed product’s fitting limits need checking.
List handles, latches, hinges and stops as well as the leaf. Existing hardware may not suit a different door or finish. Agree who buys each component, what can be reused and whether old holes or marks will be repaired and decorated.
