Room-by-room skirting

List each room and approximate length, showing door openings, corners, chimney breasts and short returns. Give the proposed profile, height and material, or photograph the trim you want to match. An old profile may need a suitable alternative, so do not assume an exact match.

Explain whether the flooring is retained, replaced or still to be fitted. The junction should be considered with the selected flooring instructions and finished level. Existing walls and floors need assessment before fitting details and preparation allowances are agreed.

Door surrounds and replacement trim

Record the doors that need architraves and whether the existing frames are retained. Send the profile, width, material and how it should meet the skirting. Mark switches, adjacent cupboards and other features that restrict the available space.

Removal and replacement can disturb wall finishes. Agree local making good, filling and decoration separately from fitting the timber or board. A primed product and a fully decorated installation are different handover conditions.

Coordinate the floor, frames and finish

Send the intended sequence for flooring, door work and decorating. Final quantities and fitting details should be checked on site, with suitable access to the walls. Identify furniture to move, retained floor protection and any managed-building working arrangements.

Any specified performance door or protected construction needs the relevant design and product details. Ordinary trim work should not be treated as an assessment or certification of the existing doorset. Include specialist requirements in the enquiry so responsibilities can be established.

What should the quotation include?

Compare the same room list, trim profiles and final painted or unfinished condition.

Can you fit skirting boards we supply?

Yes, within a suitable agreed package. Send the material, profile, lengths, delivery information and installation instructions. We need to check the quantity and its suitability for the actual room before arranging the fitting.

Can you match the existing architrave?

Send a close photograph and dimensions, including the profile shape. Availability and the acceptable match need checking before ordering. We do not promise an exact match from a photograph alone.

Is painting included?

Only when the quotation includes it. State whether you want fitted unfinished trim, a primed finish or complete decoration, and whether the surrounding walls also need making good.

Send the postcode, room list, approximate lengths, door photographs, chosen profiles, flooring plan, material-supply preference and final finish. Mention access, furniture and intended sequencing.
