Fit the selected enclosure

Send the manufacturer, model, door arrangement, tray reference and current fitting instructions. Explain whether the product is already purchased and who supplies fixings or accessories. The exact components and delivery condition need checking before fitting is arranged.

Final opening measurements should be checked at the relevant finished stage against the selected product’s adjustment range. Approximate enquiry dimensions help describe the job, but they are not a final order approval.

Replace an enclosure on a retained tray

Photograph the existing screen, wall profiles, tray and adjoining finishes. Tell us about leaks, loose fittings, cracks or previous repairs. The installer needs to assess the retained surfaces and suitability before replacement is agreed.

Removal may expose holes, marks or damaged finishes beyond the footprint of the new profiles. Agree the extent of removal, disposal, repairs, sealing and making good. Retaining the tray is a proposed scope, not a guarantee that an uninspected tray is suitable.

Keep the product, room and facilities coordinated

Check how the selected door opens beside the basin, toilet, towel rail or other fittings. Include any access requirement and tell us if this is the only shower. Product instructions and the assessed installation determine the work sequence and return-to-use arrangements.

If the tray, waterproofing, plumbing or wall finish also changes, identify that separately. A screen replacement does not resolve every possible cause of a shower leak, and suitability cannot be established from photographs alone.

Keep enclosure fitting separate from any wider tray, plumbing or waterproofing work.

Questions before you enquire

Can I buy the enclosure myself?

Yes, subject to the agreed supply arrangement. Have the finished opening and chosen model checked before ordering, and provide the full components and installation information.

Can the existing tray remain?

Only if it is assessed as suitable for the proposed work. Tell us about damage or leaks and allow for the relevant checks before treating retention as confirmed.

Will replacing the screen stop a leak?

A replacement addresses the agreed enclosure work. The source of a leak needs assessment; plumbing, tray, background or waterproofing repairs may require a different scope.

What to send for a useful quotation

Send the postcode, photographs, approximate opening dimensions, selected model, tray details and known problems. Include who supplies the products, facilities available during work and required making good.
