Start with the layout and existing condition
Replacing fittings in their current positions and changing the layout can involve different levels of work. Drainage routes, water services, ventilation and the condition of walls and floors need to be considered together. Share photographs and a simple plan showing the bath or shower, toilet and basin. Tell us about leaks, damaged surfaces or other known concerns so that investigation and preparation are considered before the finish specification is priced.
Define preparation, fitting and finishes
A useful quotation distinguishes removal and preparation from fitting, tiling, decoration and service alterations. Agree the suitable substrate preparation and waterproofing approach for the proposed wet areas, together with the products and specialist input needed. Plumbing, electrical and ventilation responsibilities should be clear. Include tile sizes, sanitaryware dimensions and installation information early; recessed fittings, wall-hung units and changes to drainage may affect both the build-up and the scope.
Plan around essential facilities
If this is your only bathroom or toilet, tell us at the first enquiry. The programme needs to account for the facilities that will be unavailable, deliveries, installation stages and product curing or drying times. Do not assume every fitting can remain usable throughout. Send the postcode, approximate room dimensions, photographs, preferred products and your timing. We can discuss the information needed for a quotation while your choices are still developing.
